The creation of the ghetto was a means to exclude the Jewish community of Lublin from the very life and history of a city it had been contributing to for hundreds of years. The stigmatization of Jews was symbolised by the yellow Star of David clearly attached to their clothing. The establishment of the ghetto was the first step on the way to the annihilation of the Jewish community. This is why marking the boundaries of the ghetto in yellow is of such great significance.
