Tadeusz Przystojecki (1981–2022) ENGLISH VERSION
Tadeusz Przystojecki was a historian, archivist and genealogist. He worked as a researcher specializing in genealogical research about the Jews of Lublin and the Lublin region. At the Grodzka Gate–NN Theatre Centre he was involved in collecting and making available material about the Jews of Lublin. From 2015-2022, he served as coordinator of the Lublin. 43 Thousand project, within which databases of the prewar Jewish inhabitants of Lublin were created. Tadeusz was part of the team that created the HGIS system, which maps the historical space of the city.

Tadeusz Przystojecki was born on May 8, 1981 in Lublin. He studied piano at the Karol Lipiński State Music School in Lublin (1990-1996) and at the 9th Mikołaj Kopernik Secondary School in Lublin (1996-2000). From 2000-2006, he studied history, specializing in archival science, at the Faculty of Humanities of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He completed his studies with an MA degree. After graduating, he completed additional training in archival science, digitization of archival materials and creating databases (e.g., in the State Archives in Lublin).
Tadeusz Przystojecki has been connected with the Grodzka Gate–NN Theatre Centre since 2003, initially as a volunteer, intern and trainee. From November 2006 to February 2022, he served as a full-fledged employee. He was the coordinator of a number of projects: Lublin 2.0: Virtual Reconstruction of the City; The Lublin Virtual Library and Wooden Treasure. From 2017–2022 he headed the map team of HGIS Lublin.
Among his many activities Tadeusz was part of the team that created entries for the "Lexicon of Lublin" and the Calendar of Lublin and the Lublin Region.
Through his work in Brama Grodzka-Teatr NN, Tadeusz focused on the broad multiculturalism of Lublin, especially in its recent history. He was a researcher of the processes occurring in society, and of relationships between particular population groups. He was interested in issues related to the history of spatial arrangements and real estate history. He specialized in the field of archival science and conducted archival searches in archives, libraries and offices for the purpose of genealogical research.
Tadeusz was fluent in English and Russian.
In his private life, he was interested in music, mindmapping, modern psychology, and enjoyed yacht sailing and cycling.
Tadeusz Przystojecki died on February 24, 2022 in Lublin, Poland.
