Brama Talks: DI GOLDENE KEYT: A CONVERSATION WITH SHEVA ZUCKER
The Yiddish expression, di goldene keyt (the golden chain) symbolizes the uninterrupted transmission of Jewish tradition from one generation to the next. The individual links in the chain form a constantly expanding string of culture, and although each link differs greatly from the others, all are equally golden.
On May 13, 2021 join us for a talk with the renowned Yiddish teacher and researcher, Sheva Zucker. In conversation with Piotr Nazaruk, Sheva will discuss the role of the Yiddish language in Jewish tradition, Sheva's work in the field of Yiddish language education and her family connection to Lublin.

Sheva Zucker is a Yiddish teacher and researcher; and the author of the textbooks Yiddish: An Introduction to the Language, Literature and Culture, Vols. I and II. For years, she was the Executive Director of the League for Yiddish; the editor of its magazine Afn Shvel; and the Academic Director of YIVO's Uriel Weinreich Summer Program in Yiddish Language, Literature and Culture. Her father spent his youth in pre-war Lublin.
Piotr Nazaruk works at The Grodzka Gate–NN Theatre Centre as an educator, researcher and curator of temporary exhibits.
